The government has updated and eased some of the restrictions placed upon sport and physical activity as part of the lockdown to tackle the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. People can now go outside more than once a day for exercise as long as social distancing is still observed. Many facilities associated with outdoor sports and physical activities can reopen, if those responsible for them feel ready to do so and if they can do so safely.
This includes basketball and tennis courts, playing spaces like golf courses (public and private), playing fields and watersports.
However, outdoor gyms, playgrounds and outdoor swimming pools will remain closed.
Sport England has worked with the government to help answer some of the key questions people in the sport and physical activity sector will have as it eases some of its lockdown restrictions.
