Creative Assembly won the Set4Success inter-business football six-a-side tournament on Thursday evening coming out on top of a field of five teams that entered the Horsham Park event. Proceedings started off in fine weather but half an hour in heavy rain made for a fast and slippy surface that most players negotiated safely but one or two struggled with because of not having studded footwear. By the end of the evening the sun was back out to see the players off. Weather apart everything went well with matches played in fine spirit and to a good level of quality.

Creative Assembly won all their matches opening with a close one-niller over Ceres, before progressing confidently at the expense of Assurity Consulting 3-0 and then winning 2-1 in the key match against their principal challenger, Durrants. In that match they established a 2-0 first half lead courtesy of some good counter-attacking play from their speedy forwards but in the second half Durrants made all the running, pinning Creative Assembly back. Durrants got a lucky break to narrow the deficit when the ball from the neighbouring pitch produced some confusion in the Creative defence which their opponents exploited. But after that as much as Durrants pressed they could not manage to level.

Creative Assembly's last match against Kreston Reeves was not quite as straight-forward as they may have hoped. Bottom team Ceres had just mauled Kreston Reeves 5-1 whose form had plummeted after their opening 4-2 win over Assurity Consulting, so Creative Assembly would have been forgiven for thinking that their final push was a downhill one. Kreston rallied though and forced a five-goal thriller that did finish 3-2 in Creative Assembly's favour and confirmed their prize. Notable also to mention that Creative Assembly was the only team to include a female in their ranks and one that did very well when she came on, including during the Durrants match.

On the other pitch Durrants faced similar surprise resistance from an Assurity Consulting team well below them, also coming out 3-2 victors and confirming their runners-up status.

All three teams below the top two finished with one win each but Assurity Consulting's closer margins of defeat saw it finish the best of them, just above Kreston Reeves and leaving Ceres, despite their late flourish, in the basement slot.
