St Robert Southwell School, Horsham won the Horsham District Primary Schools Division C last week finishing with a one hundred per cent record from their five matches. The key match came first up on the final meeting against Kingslea A, another team with a straight wins record at the start of the final stretch. However St Robs stamped their quality on proceedings in no uncertain terms with a 3-0 win margin. After that the excitement more revolved around who would come second. As St Roberts was doing its business Kingslea B was beating Southwater B in an exciting encounter 3-2 to put themselves in with a shout.
Southwater A won this year's fantastically competitive Horsham District Primary Schools Basketball League on Thursday at Collyer's. They won their final group matches against Shelley's B and A teams by 12-10 and 10-4 respectively to retain their champions status but the close final matches and the fact that Shelley A had beat them 10-8 in the previous, third phase group round was indicative of just how finely balanced the competition was at the top end. Super to see a good number of girls mixing it so capably with the boys in this event too.
Year 3+4 children took to the primary schools netball centre-stage last week courtesy of a festival provided by Collyer's sports leaders at the sixth form college last week. Nine teams from five schools convened to take advantage of the opportunity, making for a super event and it was Kingslea B who enjoyed it most by coming overall first place just in front of Slinfold. When the two met Kingslea B came out convincing winners 3-0. Kingslea A finished third.

A great first meeting of two for this year's Horsham Primary Schools Basketball League at Collyer's just before the Easter break-up. An entry of 13 teams made for a slightly awkward format. First round groups saw Shelley A, Southwater A, Kingslea A and Southwater B victorious and earning the right to go to the top table for the second round groups. Southwater A were installed as title favourites by winning the top tier with a 12-4 win over Shelley A.

So five became four with Holbrook holding a narrow lead at the start of the evening but St Andrew’s having a game in hand.
